Boerne High closed out the first round of district basketball action Friday night with a lopsided win over Bandera.
The Hounds hammered the Bulldogs Friday in Bandera, 70-45. Boerne is 21-5 overall and 6-0 in district. They were off Tuesday and open district play on Friday at home against Wimberley.
Boerne shot it well from the field against the Bulldogs and went 9 for 13 from 3-point range and 19 for 32 from 2-point range for 62 percent shooting in the game.
The Hounds were up 11-2 in the game and opened up a 24-9 advantage in the first half.
Boerne kept adding to its lead before recording the 25-point victory.
Barrett Pape couldn’t miss from the 3-point line and went 5 for 5 on his way to 21 points.
Houston Hendrix scored 11 points, Trevor Agarwal also shot it well from long range and was 3 for 4 from beyond the arch to finish with 9 points, Koen Wolff netted 8 points, Hutson Hendrix, Jaxon Baize and Colton Hoegemeyer both chipped in with 4 points, Sam Holland hit the other 3 in the game for the Hounds and scored 3, Luke Fox, Jeffrey Brown and Casen Hoegemeyer all had 2 points.
Houston Hendrix led the team on the boards with 9 rebounds and added a block, Wolff dished out 7 assists and Pape had 4 assists.
