Boerne girls post 2-1 record in Georgetown

The Boerne High girls soccer team played in its third and final tourney of the regular season last weekend when the Lady Hounds were entered in Governor’s Cup Tournament in Georgetown.

The Boerne High girls soccer team played in its third and final tourney of the regular season last weekend when the Lady Hounds were entered in Governor’s Cup Tournament in Georgetown.

BHS also closed out the non-district portion of its schedule last weekend and opens district play Friday when they host Fredericksburg to kick off 26-4A action.

The Lady Greyhounds finished the tourney with a 2-1 record and improved to 9-2 overall.

Boerne opened the tourney on Thursday with a 3-1 win over Leander Glenn.

Madeline Davis scored the team’s first goal unassisted and then Kylie Combs tacked on the final two goals, with assists from Hannah Bowen and Avery Ukeiley on a cross pass.

On Friday, Boerne returned and beat Montgomery Lake Creek, 3-1.

Hannah Bowen scored on the assist from Kylie Combs, and then Combs later scored on the assist from Bowen for the 2-0 lead.

After Montgomery Lake Creek got on the board, the Lady Hounds finished it out with a goal from Madeline Davis to make it 3-1.

In its final match of the tourney on Saturday, the Lady Greyhounds suffered its only defeat at the tourney and lost to Port Neches-Groves, 2-1.

Kyle Combs had the only goal of the match for the Lady Hounds after she converted a penalty kick.
