Boerne Champion closed out a tough week in girls soccer after the Lady Chargers suffered two district losses.
Champion was defeated by visiting Dripping Springs last Tuesday, 2-0, and then played at Alamo Heights Friday and lost to the Lady Mules, 2-1.
The Lady Chargers slip to 1-2 in district and are 4-2-2 overall. Champion looks to get back on track Tuesday when they host Veterans Memorial.
Alamo Heights tallied two first-half goals late in the half for the 2-0 lead at the break. Champion tried to rally in the second half and came up with a goal from Addison Huber to cut the lead in half with less than five minutes left on the clock but that’s where the rally ended and the score stayed at 2-1.
It was a tough loss for the Chargers who won every category except on the scoreboard. The Chargers outshot the Mules, 17-5, had more shots on goal, 10-4, and took more corner kicks, 5-3.
