Vernell Wood, born on October 27, 1939 in San Antonio, TX, was a devoted Christian, beloved wife, mother, mother in law, grandmother, and great grandmother; passed from this life into eternal life on July 1, 2024. Vernell is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Elizabeth Seewald, and husband of 48 years Keneth Wood. She is survived by her sons Warren Wood (Sharon), Ronald Wood (Patricia), 1 daughter Candice Cooper and 3 greatgrandchildren, Logan, Trey, and Cody.

Vernell graduated from Boerne High School in 1958 and attended business college. Vernell worked for the Boerne School District for many years. She was a member of various organizations such as the Kendall County Fair Association, American Business Women’s Association, Red Hat Ladies, and the Garden Club, she was also a member of the Christ on The Hill Church in Boerne, TX.

She enjoyed watching the Spurs, Dallas Cowboys and reading. The family would like to express appreciation to the Cibolo Creek Center and Alamo Hospice for their care and love of Vernell.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at the Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, 10:00am, at the Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at Boerne City Cemetery.
