Boerne teenager Maddie Barber earned $30,500 at the 2022 Kendall County Junior Livestock Show and Sale last week after she showed several pigs – two Yorks, a Duroc and a Cross – during the January 4 swine show. Barber, a junior at Champion High School, said she is donating all her earnings to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, where she was treated for brain cancer from 2017-18. Barber was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma and has been cancer-free since 2018. She committed to donating 100 percent of her sale donations to St. Jude to help future children get treatment and enable them to pursue activities they enjoy.
