Delivery to jail for suspected pizza-store robbers

Kenneth Davis, 34, was arrested Sunday for the robbery of the Domino's Pizza at 1375 S. Main St.

Two people charged with robbing a pizza chain of little more than $100 — possibly brandishing only a BB gun — are spending New Year’s Day dining on jail food, officials said.

According to police, Victoria Jan McDonald, 34, of Boerne, and Kenneth Courtney Davis, 34, of Somerville, were taken into custody in the wake of the incident at the Domino's Pizza, 1375 S. Main St., at 7:22 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29.

Davis is charged with aggravated robbery, possession of marijuana under 2 ounces, possession of a controlled substance 4-200 grams, possession of a controlled substance between 1-4 grams, and tampering/fabricating evidence with intent to impair. His bond is set at $313,000, according to officials.

McDonald, charged with aggravated robbery, is jailed on a $100,000 bond.

Both are in the Kendall County Detention Center.

According to investigators, the incident Sunday began after two people entered the pizza store and threatened an employee at gunpoint.

Police said the pair demanded money from the cash register, and an employee complied. The bandits then drove away in a white sport-utility vehicle with over $100 in cash and change.

Police made a pair of arrests less than three hours later at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Johns Road.

Officers from the Boerne Police Department, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Public Safety immediately responded when the 911 call was received, officials said.

Investigators obtained surveillance footage from the store, gathered statements from employees and reviewed additional cameras to help locate the suspects.

Employees were able to provide detailed descriptions of the robbers and the suspected getaway vehicle, according to reports.

At 10:17 p.m., officers located an auto matching the description of the one used in the robbery at an apartment complex off of Johns Road.

After seizing the vehicle, police conducted interviews with two persons of interest and placed them under arrest, according to reports.

Items from the robbery, including Domino’s gift cards and rolled change, were found in the vehicle, along with several black BB guns matching the description of the firearm used during the robbery.

Anyone with more information on the case is asked to call Boerne police at 830-249-8645 or Kendall County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-348-5323. Callers do not have to give their identities.
