Greyhound tennis gets in final tune up before opening playoffs

Greyhound tennis gets in final tune up before opening playoffs

The Boerne High tennis team closed out the regular season Saturday morning by playing a familiar foe – Fredericksburg.

Boerne and Fred have had some battles over the years in various sports but won’t play much going forward since BHS is a 5A school and the Battlin’ Billies are a 4A school.

The tennis teams met Saturday morning in Boerne and the Greyhounds won, 12-7.

Boerne High is 13-3 overall and opens the postseason Tuesday against Liberty Hill in San Marcos.

The Greyhounds are the No. 3 seed in their district behind Alamo Heights and Boerne Champion.

The Chargers opened their 2024 playoffs Monday against Leander, also in San Marcos.

Champion won 11-6 and plays John Jay Thursday at Anne Marie Tennis Center, 1 p.m.
