‘ Dragons eggs’ offer invites to Cooper’s Kingdom

So, you were walking along River Road Park and stumbled upon what looks like an egg, a large odd-shaped “thing” that resembles a large ostrich egg ... or something.

It is, in fact, an egg — a dragon egg, to be exact.

FireWing, the majestic Dragon Caddy of Flame, Tooth, Wing & Scale, took to the skies over Boerne and deposited rare “dragon’s eggs” in the verdant nooks of Boerne’s parks and winding trails. Each egg, “a treasure beyond measure,” is unique: Some gleam like embers; others bear patterns like ancient runes.

Between Oct. 5 and 14, Boerne residents may find “dragon eggs” such as this in various parks and walkways. Specials and invites are contained inside.

But there’s no need to panic. You’ve just found your invite to Cooper’s Kingdom, a medieval themed 3D mini-golf and arcade, set to open Nov. 1 along Old San Antonio Road.

Between Oct. 5 and 14, as many as 250 of the eggs will be spread across Boerne’s parklands for unsuspecting residents to find. Inside each will be a special Cooper’s Kingdom invite or gift for the lucky finder.

“Seek them out, as a knight quests for the Grail or forgotten ballads,” cites Coooper’s Kingdom proprietors, readying the discoverers for the medieval theme that fills the Kingdom. “And mayhap, if the winds favor thee, thou shalt discover a dragon’s promise — a whispered invitation to revelry within Cooper’s Kingdom.”

Cooper’s Kingdom owners and operators Scott and Candice Cooper have been remodeling the site at 129 Old San Antonio Road for several months, leading up to a scheduled soft opening later this month prior to the Nov. 1 opening.

The Coopers are keeping with the medieval theme throughout the buildup to the Kingdom’s opening.

A post on their Instagram page reads, “Candice and Scott Cooper, visionaries of local renown, have woven a spell — a spell that transforms mere mini golf into a grand adventure. Their hearts beat in time with the clatter of wooden clubs and the rustle of velvet capes.”

Similarly, on Oct. 2, when Cooper’s Kingdom stretched its first banner- sign across the face of its building, the Coopers posted on their Facebook page, “Verily, noble traveler, Cooper’s Kingdom, that wondrous abode of mirth and merriment, hath unveiled a sign most splendid. Behold!”

The Kingdom’s main attraction will be its 18-hole wizard-themed, blacklighted mini-golf course, while as many as 20 arcade games await gamers. Merchandise available will include T-shirts, light-up swords and wands with “perhaps even a dragon or two lurking in the shadows.”
