The Boerne High tennis team picked up a district win Friday by defeating Tivy in Kerrville.
BHS took the match, 11-1, and improves to 12-3 overall and 5-2 in district. The Greyhounds were at New Braunfels Tuesday to close out district action.
Boerne also picked up a non-district match for this coming Saturday at Fredericksburg before starting playoffs next week.
The Hounds were scheduled to tangle with Liberty Hill last weekend but it was called off since Boerne might face the Panthers in the first round of the postseason.
BHS will enter the playoffs at the No. 3 seed from its district behind Alamo Heights and Boerne Champion.
They’ll either play Liberty Hill or Cedar Park early next week.
Boerne Champion
The Chargers closed out the regular season Tuesday at Kerrville Tivy.
Champion entered Tuesday’s match with the Antlers at 6-1 and 7-5 overall. They’ll be the No. 2 seed from the district when they start the playoffs next week behind Alamo Heights.
Champion was trying to get head coach Joey Cantu his 401st win on Tuesday. Cantu picked up 400 against Wagner last week at the BHS courts.
The Chargers will likely face Leander in the first round Monday at San Marcos.
