about our record prior to district,” he said. “We were just focusing on getting better each week, getting lots of players reps and showing improvement.”
Gaston said he likes what he’s seen from the team through non-district especially from the under classmen.
“What really excites us the most is how our younger players have stepped up to the plate,” he said. “We are playing a lot of sophomores and freshmen and they have shown the grit and resiliency With four games under its belt, the Geneva School of Boerne football team opens district play this Friday at home with a 2-2 record.

Geneva coach Grant Gaston said he wasn’t focused on wins and losses through non-district, especially with a young team.

KIPP Academy held a 20-17 lead late in the third, but the Eagles didn’t score any more points after that and the Houston school tacked on a late TD to basically put the game away with an 11-point lead at 28-17.
As the team heads into district, Gaston said he likes how they’re playing and getting along with one another.
“We’re bonding together as a team. We’ve been establishing all off-season that we are one team. There isn’t a hierarchy of seniors to freshmen – we are all Geneva Eagles and we play together and for each other,” he said. “That is really showing.
