Greyhounds run in College Station at A&M Invitational
The Boerne High varsity cross country teams made the long drive to College Station to compete at the Texas A&M Invitational.
It was a crowded field and had 64 teams on the boys side and 54 on the girls side.
BHS will hit the road again this weekend and race at the McNeil Invitational at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, home of the annual state meet in November.
Coaches love to run in the meet to get a glimpse of the course as they prepare for a possible state berth.
Varsity Boys
The varsity boys were fifth with 330 points in a huge field of 64 teams.
Bridgeland won the race with 24 points, College Park came in second (153) McAllen took third (226), followed by Prosper (272) and Boerne.
Valor Menn led the Hounds after he was 24th in 16:25.4, Aaron Garcia came in 29th in 16:31.5, Carsten Bain posted a 16:53 for 58th, Jackson Temple finished in 17:20 for 109th, Barrett Crofut clocked in at 17:38.4 for 143rd, Ben Macias was 218th in 18:15 and Ethan Christianson recorded an 18:24.1 for 238th place.
Julian Wasel also ran and posted an 18:27, Braylen Thomason was in at 18:50.6, Hunter Prince ran a 19:07.05 in the field of 550 runners.
Varsity Girls
The Boerne High girls came in 11th in the team standings with 465 points, ahead of district rival Kerrville Tivy in the field of 54 teams.
Bridgeland won the event (90), Aledo was second (94) and Prosper took third (112) in the field of 54 teams.
Eleanor Davis was Boerne’s top finisher after she was 57th in a time of 20:31.08, Genevieve Sengler came in 94th with a 21:10.2, Mahaley Merkins recorded a 21:19.8 for 105th, Penelope Kirk was 122nd after posting a 21:32.6, Bethanee Lozano finished the race in 21:56.4 for 159th, Abigail Jundrusch completed the course in 22:40.1 and Sophia Karageorge ran a 23:44.5.
Catherine Bailey posted a 23:52.9, Noelle Muir finished in 24:21.9 and Kiera Sawyer ran a 24:25 in the field of 500 runners.
