Geneva School of Boerne made the drive to the Houston area Friday night to take on KIPP Sunshine Academy in a non-district contest.
The Eagles had a hard time getting their offense going and dropped Friday’s game, 28-17.
Geneva is 2-2 and opens district play Friday at home against Schertz John Paul II.
The Eagles couldn’t find the end zone in the first half of Friday’s game and were trailing KIPP at the break after they managed a field goal to make it 14-3 by halftime.
Geneva played better once the second half started but still couldn’t catch the Houston school.
The Eagles did account for two TDs in the third after Brady Chandler caught a touchdown pass, while Bryce Hanover ran it into the end zone and the lead was down to three points at 20-17 late in the third, but that’s as close as the Eagles came.
Geneva wasn’t able to score in the final period and KIPP Sunshine Academy iced the game with a fourth-quarter touchdown and a two-point try to make it 28-17.
