Carriage House artists celebrate gallery’s 20 years

The community is invited to join our creative friends at Carriage House Gallery from 4-7 p.m. October 7, to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

There will be catered Mexican food and margaritas, and live music by Austin-based musician Anthony Garcia. You will also have a chance to see art demonstrations and talk with the Artists about their work, inspirations, and techniques.

Additionally, the gallery artists will be sharing their favorite desserts for you to enjoy. What could possibly be better than an afternoon filled with art, music, food and drink?

Carriage House is a partnership of artists. Between them, they create in all mediums and styles, from watercolor to pastel, from acrylic to gourd art; oil, photography, fiber arts, pen and ink; fused glass and pottery.

Voted the Best of the Best Fine Art Gallery three years running, one feels instantly comfortable and welcomed by the artists representing Carriage House. Founded in 2003, Carriage House is owned and operated by several artists / partners, all of whom are willing to provide insightful information regarding not simply their artworks, but also their partner artists.

Enjoy viewing the artworks of Angie Carney, Linda Chalberg, Susan Die, Nita Dixon, Chris Gray, Barbie Holton, Rita Kirkman, Bonnie Mann, Beth McCash, Mary McIntosh, Darryl Patrick, Becky Rogers, Katherine Stewart and Sherri Jo Adams.

Garcia is a songwriter, guitarist and classically trained pianist based in Austin. His musical style has most accurately been described as “cinematic Americana,” a genre that interweaves songwriting with expanding, quasi-orchestral sections.

The best word to describe Garcia’s live performance is versatile. He often switches between genres within a set, and sometimes switches between instruments within a single song. A lover of rock, blues, classical piano, and Spanish guitar, and a fan of soulful vocals and old standards, Garcia’s promise to engage the audience.
