Yes, we do have a live theatre in Boerne!

Boerne Community Theatre is located at the corner of East Blanco Road and Plant Street. We moved into this building in 2007 after spending several years in a storefront where Nature’s Presence is now located.

Our lighted sign was damaged during the earlier windstorms but is well on its way to being fixed and should be up at the end of the month!

Here, we offer several programs, including shows for adults and teens, summer drama camps, a Teen Troupe, an afterschool Academy for children and ActIII@BCT, a reader’s theatre program for adults. Performances for all of these programs are throughout the year. On July 7, we will open Almost, Maine, a comedy by John Cariani. It’s set way up north during the Northern lights where you can see how that phenomenon affects the love lives of the small-town residents. Tickets are on sale from our website at www.boernetheatre. org or by calling the box office Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon at (830) 249-9166.

That show would normally be the end of our current season. However, we are extending the 2022-23 season through November as we move to a calendar year for January- December 2024. Extra shows have been added for the fall, including three comedies (Half-Baked, Dracula Bites and A Christmas Cactus).

The Teen Troupe will also present a musical. At our big annual fundraiser in October, The Hill Country’s Got Talent, we will announce the 2024 season and current members may renew at this year’s price until Dec. 1.

This new monthly column will announce upcoming shows, auditions and other information about our programs as the year progresses. To subscribe to our mailing list, go to the website and scroll down to the bottom right. We look forward to hearing from you!
