The Boerne Independent School District is proud to announce that Curington Elementary, Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary, and Herff Elementary have been selected by The Flippen Group as Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools for the 2022-23 school year. Curington, Fair Oaks Ranch, and Herff are three of just 468 schools in the United States to receive this recognition.

“ We ar e elated that both Curington and Fair Oaks Ranch have once again been named National Showcase Schools, with Her f f receiving this designation for the first time,” said Boerne ISD Superintendent Dr. Thomas Price. “The fact that two of our schools earned this national award multiple years in a row is a testament to the hard work of our students, teachers, and staff. This recognition once again confirms what we have known for many years, that we have the best teachers and students in Texas. Congratulations to Principals Matt Myers, Jessica Shults, and Beth Miller and everyone at Curington, Fair Oaks Ranch, and Herff Elementary,” Dr. Price concluded.

Boerne Elementary first opened its doors in 1976 and was named Curington Elementary in 1986. They have been named a National Showcase School three years in a row.

Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary, which has now been named a National Showcase School five years in a row, first opened in 1995 and serves students who reside in parts of Kendall, Comal, and Bexar counties.

Herff is one of BISD’s newest schools, having opened in 2019. This is their first year being named a National Showcase School.

National Showcase Schools are chosen annually through a rigorous selection process that includes measuring key performance indicators, gathering campus data, and surveying staff and students. The results represent the implementation of CKH processes as well as the culture and climate on each campus. Capturing Kids’ Hearts celebrates campuses where educators are exceeding expectations and creating an environment where students feel safe, connected, and eager to learn.
