With the score tied at 40-40 and only 1.39 seconds left in the game, it looked like the Boerne High and Cedar Park girls basketball teams were headed to overtime during Tuesday's first-round playoff game in Wimberley.
The Lady Wolves still had to inbound the ball near mid-court after a timeout and basically only had a chance at a quick shot with only 1.39 on the clock, but that turned out to be more than enough time.
Cedar Park's Hope Edwards inbounded the ball to a teammate, who quickly tossed the ball back to Edwards. She basically launched a half-court shot that swished in at the buzzer to bring the game to a stunning conclusion and give the Lady Wolves a 43-40 victory.
The Timberwolves celebrated, while the Boerne players were left in disbelief as their season came to an end.
