Heartbreak in Wimberley

Cedar Park hits half court shot at buzzer to eliminate Lady Greyhounds in opening round

Cedar Park hits half court shot at buzzer to eliminate Lady Greyhounds in opening round
Cedar Park's Hope Edwards gets ready to launch a half court shot that swished in at the buzzer to get the Lady Timberwolves a 43-40 win over the Boerne High girls.

With the score tied at 40-40 and only 1.39 seconds left in the game, it looked like the Boerne High and Cedar Park girls basketball teams were headed to overtime during Tuesday's first-round playoff game in Wimberley.

The Lady Wolves still had to inbound the ball near mid-court after a timeout and basically only had a chance at a quick shot with only 1.39 on the clock, but that turned out to be more than enough time.

Cedar Park's Hope Edwards inbounded the ball to a teammate, who quickly tossed the ball back to Edwards. She basically launched a half-court shot that swished in at the buzzer to bring the game to a stunning conclusion and give the Lady Wolves a 43-40 victory.

The Timberwolves celebrated, while the Boerne players were left in disbelief as their season came to an end.
