Ronald Norman Macon, a beloved resident of Boerne for more than 35 years, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024.

He was born Sept. 19, 1941, in Miami, Florida, to Walter T. Macon and Esther Woldhagen. Ron was deeply devoted to his late wife, Irma O. Macon, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage until her passing.

He graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in architectural engineering and enjoyed a distinguished career in precast concrete that spanned over 40 years. Known for his strong work ethic and dedication, Ron was highly respected in his field.

Outside of work, Ron cherished time spent with his family and pets, and had a passion for boating and fishing. He was actively involved in 4-H alongside his children and grandchildren, reflecting his commitment to community and family values.

Ron and Irma were also proud committee members of the San Antonio Junior Livestock Show judging committee.

Ron was known for his uplifting personality and quick-witted jokes, which brightened the lives of everyone around him. Ron’s legacy of hard work, love for family, and dedication to his community will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

Ron is survived by his children: Mike Macon, Georgina Tobin, Tina Cappello, Dawn Vogt, Chris Macon and Chip Macon; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Carol Nelson and Judy Peters.

His children would like to share a special thank you to all the caretakers at Morningside at Menger Springs Kendall House for the amazing care of our father. They made his journey into the afterlife one filled with true compassion, sparing no effort to bring comfort and love. They will never be forgotten.

A viewing will be held from 1-2 p.m. June 24 followed by a funeral service at Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home, 1265 N. Main St. in Boerne, with burial immediately afterward at Boerne Cemetery.
