SAN ANTONIO – The Boerne High boys basketball team went toe-to-toe with Houston Washington for the entire four quarters of last Friday’s 4A state semifinals game in the Alamodome, but in the end, the Eagles just had too much firepower for the Greyhounds.

After not making the playoffs last season, the Boerne Champion boys soccer team responded with a great 2023 and claimed this year’s district title.

The Boerne High softball team bounced back from last Tuesday’s tough loss at Jourdanton with a strong performance against Hondo Friday night at Greyhound Field.

The Geneva School of Boerne picked up a pair of wins against Providence High School out of San Antonio recently.

The Boerne Champion girls soccer team visited Smithson Valley on Friday night and suffered a 3-0 loss to the district-champ Lady Rangers.

Both the Boerne High and Champion track and field teams hosted track meets at Boerne ISD Stadium to start the season.

The Boerne Champion baseball team closed out regular-season tournament play last weekend after they took part in the Leander tourney for its third and final tournament of the season.

Another district game and another extra-inning affair for the Boerne Champion softball team.

The Hound hardball team played four games at the San Marcos Tournament last weekend and won three of those contests to go 3-1 at the event. Boerne didn’t play any games on Saturday in its final tournament of the regular season.

The Geneva School of Boerne Eighth Grade Oratory Contest is a highlight of the Logic School experience. This competition began in 2007 and has become a tradition in which each student memorizes a piece from a selection of historic poems and speeches and delivers the prepared recitation in front of a panel of judges. The Oratory Contest is a precursor to the Senior Thesis which students prepare and present at the culmination of their Geneva education.

A sprawling development at Dietz-Elkhorn Road that includes a new H-E-B, retail and housing could mean more business for the area but also more traffic woes for nearby Fair Oaks Ranch.
