Greyhound soccer teams both beat Veterans Memorial

Boerne High boys take district win streak to 50 straight

So far, it’s been a smooth transition from 4A to 5A soccer for the Boerne High soccer teams.

The Greyhound varsity squads are still unbeaten in 26-5A action through three games and both stand at 3-0 in district after picking up wins Tuesday night.

The BHS boys team victory pushes their district win streak to 50.

Boerne boys coach Michael Strong said the thing that stands out to him about the win streak is that it has involved a lot of different players from a lot of teams over the past six seasons.

“I think what makes it special is that it ties six different teams together,” he said. “It took the collective efforts from six years of players to get to this point where we are now and they can all celebrate this accomplishment together.”

Things will get harder for both squads starting Friday since they’ll suit up against Smithson Valley. After that, they’ll tangle with Boerne Champion Tuesday and then play Alamo Heights next Friday.

The Boerne boys were on the road and picked up a 2-0 victory over the Patriots to push its district win streak to 50 straight.
