Both Boerne ISD varsity tennis teams were in action last week as they continued their district seasons.
Champion hosted Alamo Heights last Thursday in a district match at Boerne High, while the Greyhounds were at Smithson Valley last Friday after a several-day delay because of the weather.
The Chargers and the Greyhounds faced off Tuesday as they continued district play. It’s only their second meeting in district history.
Boerne High
Boerne’s match with Smithson Valley was finally played after several weather delays. It was originally scheduled for last Tuesday but they finally met Friday.
BHS breezed to a 15-4 win over the Rangers and improved to 10-1 this season. They are 3-0 in district and have two big matches this week as they continue league play.
The Greyhounds played the Chargers Tuesday and visit Alamo Heights Friday.
Boerne Champion
Champion hosted the Mules last Thursday at Boerne High and lost a close one, 10-7.
It was 7-7 at one point in the contest, but the Mules closed it out by taking the final three matches on the court in singles play.
The Chargers were 4-4 overall and 2-1 in district heading into Tuesday.
After playing against the Greyhounds, the Chargers are back at the BHS courts Friday to host Pieper.
