Make detours clear
Editor, Today, Saturday, Aug. 31, my family came to Boerne for the first time. Much to our surprise, the streets were blocked off.
There was only one detour sign, so it took us 45 minutes to get around to the creek. I have never seen such poor directions for detours.
This sure was not a good first impression of Boerne; I could not understand why there were not more signs guiding motorists around the detour.
We saw many of the same cars on different streets, so I know we were not the only people confused and frustrated.
You might want to take this into consideration the next time you block off the main streets of Boerne and think of the people who do not live in Boerne or are familiar with Boerne.
