BHS runners look strong at Medina Valley Invitational

The Boerne High cross- country teams were in action last weekend at the Medina Valley Panthers Invitational in Castroville.

Both Greyhound varsity teams finished in the top two after the boys won the 5A-6A race and the girls were second.

Boerne is off this weekend and races at the A&M College Station Invitational next weekend.

Varsity Boys

The Boerne High boys captured first place with 84 points to edge Lytle (96) and Medina Valley (98).

BHS placed four in the top 10 after Carsten Bain was 3rd in 15:51, Aaron Garcia was 5th in 15:55, Barrett Crofut finished one spot back in 6th at 16:21 and Valor Menn was 10th in 16:33.

Ben Macias finished 60th in 17: 52, Ethan Christianson recorded a 17:54 for 62nd and Braylen Thomason posted an 18:08 for 71st.

Also running for the Hounds were Julian Wasel (18:20), Hunter Prince (18:34) and Jackson Temple (18:50).

Varsity Girls

BHS finished second with 97 points behind race winner Taft (74), while Deer Park was third (117) in the field of 15 teams.

Eleanor Davis posted a 19:52 for a top-10 finish after she was 6th, Sophia Karageorge came in 17th at 20:46, Genevieve Sengler was one spot back at 18th with a 20:51, Kelsey Farar finished in 21:00 for 22nd, Abigail Jundrusch clocked in at 21:20 for 34th, Kiera Sawyer recorded a 21:34 for 37th, Catherine Bailey ran a 22:41 for 58th and Nolle Muir rounded out the team with a 24:10.
