SAN ANTONIO – The Boerne High boys and girls water polo teams opened district play last Saturday with a couple of matches at the Northside Aquatic Center.
Both the boys and girls squads took on Brandeis and Marshall last Saturday afternoon and the boys squad made some history after they picked up the school’s first win in the sport with a victory over Marshall.
The Boerne boys defeated the Rams, 17-12, and lost to Brandeis, 17-3, to stand at 6-1 overall and 1-1 in district.
The Lady Hounds dropped both matches on Saturday and are 0-7 overall and 0-2 in district. The Boerne girls fell to Brandeis, 20-0, and were also tripped up by Marshall, 14-1.
Boerne High played Boerne Champion in a district match Tuesday at Alamo Heights. It’s the first meeting between the two schools this year in district play and their first meeting in this sport.
