Boerne High was home Tuesday night to host Wagner as they began 26-5A volleyball action under first-year BISD coach Staci Lawrence.
The Boerne girls cruised past the Thunderbirds in three sets, 25-13, 25-12, 25-12.
BHS is 12-3 overall and starts district play at 1-0. They’ll play in the Kerrville tournament this weekend and then play at Antler Gym Tuesday as they continue district action.
Holly Reeder finished in double- digit kills after she tallied a dozen of them against Wagner, while new addition to the team Kaylie Bourn added 7 kills and Ava Rocchio and Aubree Stegall both recorded 5 kills.
Boerne dropped in 17 aces against the overmatched Thunderbirds and were paced by Haley Wheeler who had 5 of aces and Lauren Magnus dropped in 4 aces.
Calynn Ramos and Bourn had one block each, Wheeler came up with 10 digs and Kynsie Jones added 4 digs and Magnus paced the team in assists with 16.
