The Boerne High cross-country program continued its season last weekend and raced at the SCUC Cross Country Invitational hosted by Steele.
BHS was hoping to get into the FEAST meet this weekend but had a change of plans. Instead, they raced in Castroville at Medina Valley high school Saturday morning.
Varsity Boys
The Boerne boys were second after they tallied 60 points. Clemens won the meet with 33 points and Holmes was third at 78 in the field of 10 teams. BHS had three finish in the top five after Carsten Bain was 2nd in 14:13.91, Aaron Garcia took 3rd in 14:17.80 and Valor Menn finished fifth at 14:34.44.
Barrett Crofut placed 18th in 15:23.40, Ethan Christianson came in 32nd in 16:14.39, Braylen Thomason recorded a 16:26.10 for 34th and Hunter Prince rounded out the team by placing 37th in 16:33.22.
Varsity Girls
At the event, the Lady Greyhounds finished fifth by one point with 98 points, just behind Steele, which was fourth at 97. Brandeis (38), Taft (49) and Lytle (82) took the top three spots in the field of nine teams.
Eleanor Davis turned in a top-10 finish and was 8th with a 17:42.19, Genevieve Sengler and Kelsey Farar were 19th and 20th after Sengler posted a 19:00 and Farar ran a 19:01.41.
Sophia Karageorge came in 24th with a 19:26.55, Kiera Sawyer was three spots back in 27th in 19:41.64 and Noelle Muir clocked in at 20:20.25 for 33rd, while Catherine Bailey placed 37th with a time of 20:29.36.
