BOERNE CONCERT BAND Memorial Day from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Main Plaza, 100 N. Main St. The premiere performance of the Jazz Band will begin at 6:30 p.m. The Boerne Concert Band, which will be playing patriotic favorites, is a group of volunteer musicians quickly becoming one of the best performing groups in central Texas.

MEMORIAL DAY REMEMBRANCE ceremony: American Legion Post 313 is hosting a Memorial Day remembrance ceremony from 10-10:45 a.m. at Veterans Plaza, 801 S. Main St. All are invited to attend the free remembrance.

VFW MEMORIAL DAY ceremony: Honor the fallen this Memorial Day at VFW Post 688’s Memorial Day ceremony from 11 a.m. to noon at the Boerne Cemetery, 700 N. School St. Residents are invited to join the VFW May 27 at 5 p.m. in retrieving the flags placed on veterans’ gravesites.

THE GREATER BOERNE Chamber of Commerce will hold ribbon-cutting ceremonies at: 11:30 a.m. for Richter Tavern, 153 S. Main St., to celebrate its fourth anniversary; and at 1:30 p.m. for Redox Biotech at the chamber’s boardroom, 121 S. Main St. TEXAS HILL COUNTRY Nurses Honor Guard meeting will be held at Unity of the Hill Country, 1016 Jefferson St. in Kerrville, beginning at 6 p.m. This organization is a volunteer group open to all licensed nurses, either working or retired, and to nursing students. U.S. MILITARY ACADEMIES Student Panel: Boerne High School and Champion High School graduates have been invited back for a panel discussion on “Why a military service academy? What have I experienced?” The dinner and panel will take place at The Center, 17 Old San Antonio Road, beginning at 6 p.m. The panel will be moderated by Fair Oaks Ranch Mayor Pro-Tem Laura Koerner. THE BUBBLY WALK: Join several Boerne retailers along the Hill Country Mile for a day filled with fun and bubbliness. Each location will offer a different specialty mimosa or cocktail. Participating locations include Handmade on Main, Pixie, La Te Da, The Christmas Shoppe, The Pearl Antler, Under the Fig Tree and Joli Boutique.

AID THE SILENT 5K: Join Team Aid the Silent as they gather to support the deaf and hard-of-hearing community at the annual 5K/10K walk-run race in the Texas Hill Country. Help raise awareness while you enjoy a great walk or run in the historic downtown Boerne. Registration: www.runsignup.com
