The Geneva School of Boerne softball season came to an end Tuesday night in San Antonio at the hands of Holy Cross.

The Lady Knights took the second- round playoff game against the Eagles at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio in five innings, 13-3.

Geneva ends its season at 5-15 and will graduate two seniors, Emily Coultress and Maggie Chisholm.

Tuesday’s contest was 0-0 through the first two innings and then both teams scored 3 runs in the third.

Geneva plated 3 runs in the top of the third but the Lady Knights answered with 3 of their own to tie it up at 3-3 through three.

Geneva couldn’t score past the third inning, while Holy Cross added 4 more in the fourth and then closed it out with 6 runs in the bottom of the fifth to kick in the mercy rule.

The Eagles had 7 base knocks and each team only committed one error.

Madeline Egbert was in the circle for the Eagles and gave up 12 hits. Lily Flora was 2 for 3 at the plate with a single and a double, Kate Friesenhahn finished 2 for 3 and Maegan Riebel also went 2 for 3 with a double and a single and collected 2 RBI.
