AUSTIN - Boerne Champion's Elizabeth Leachman set a new 5A record in the girls 3200 and 1600 at the state meet in Austin on Friday. The sophomore ran a 10:11.40 in the 3200 Friday morning and clocked in at 4:41.36 in the 1600 Friday night. Leachman also ran in the 800 where she placed fifth to earn 2 more team points.
The Lady Chargers finished tied for 6th in the final team standings with 22 points and Leachman collected all 22 points. She was also named the Athlete of the Meet.

Charlie Houck
Charlie Houck raced in the boys 3200 and finished 8th with a time of 9:33.18.
Brooks Jones
Champion's Brooks Jones cleared 15-0 in the pole vault and went out at 15-6 to finish fifth in the 5A state competition and earn two team points.
Hayden Brace
Hayden Brace competed in the triple jump and ended up in eighth place.
Brace went 44-8.50 on his best attempt, which came on his fifth try. His second-best distance was 44-6.75 and it came on his first leap, which had him in fifth place through the first four rounds.
Ephraim Tonn-Bourg
Elizabeth Leachman wasn't the only Champion athlete to double medal at this year's state meet after Ephraim Tonn-Bourg picked up two silver medals in wheelchair events.
Tonn-Bourg was 2nd in the 100 wheelchair with a 17.24 and he was also 2nd in the 400 when he turned in a 1:05.34.
BOERNE HIGH
Lemm high jumps to gold at 4A state track and field meet
Boerne senior Kendall Lemm won gold at the 4A state meet in the high jump after she cleared 5-8 on her second attempt Thursday morning.
This is the second state medal for Lemm, who also won silver during her sophomore season two years ago in the same event.
Lemm went for the state record at 5-11 but missed on all three attempts. She only had one other miss at state and that came on her first try at 5-8.
4x100, 4x200 relays
The Boerne High boys competed in the 4x100 and 4x200 relays at Thursday's 4A state meet.
The 4x100 clocked in at 41.11 to finish fourth behind an Aubrey team that came in at 41.10 to win bronze.
The 4x200 finished 7th with a 1:28.29.
