It was a case of better late than never for the Comfort baseball team when they visited Brady Monday.
Comfort was trailing 5-3 when they entered the top of the seventh inning and came through with 4 runs to take a 7-5 lead.
The Bobcat defense kept the Bulldogs off the board in the bottom half of the inning to preserve the 7-5 victory.
Comfort is 16-7 overall and 5-4 in district. They are tied with Llano for third place at 5-4 and hosted Llano Friday to close out the regular season.
Luke Bohnert swung a hot bat and finished with two home runs. Bohnert knocked his first one out of the park in the second inning for the 2-0 lead.
The other Bohnert homer came in the seventh when the Bobcats rallied past the Bulldogs and broke a 5-5 tie to give Comfort the 7-5 edge on the 2-run home run by Bohnert.
Micah Nye tripled in that inning as well and drove in a run and then scored on the next play to tie it up.
Mason West finished with a double and 2 singles and scored a run, Brooks Davis hit a double and a single and Tucker Rust doubled and scored.
Mason Matt singled, walked and scored once, Zach Jones hit a single and Noah Bohnert recorded 2 singles.
Rust and Jones both pitched, with Jones picking up the win.
