The Geneva School of Boerne softball team picked up its third win of the year and went a long way to get it after they traveled to Corpus Christi and defeated John Paul II.
Geneva won Friday’s road game in four innings, 21-1, behind 18 hits, and improved its record to 3-13 overall.
The Eagles were at Schertz John Paul II Monday to close out the regular season.
In Friday’s game, the Eagles were leading 3-1 after one inning but blew it open in the second with a 12-run inning for the 15-1 lead.
After not scoring in the third, the Eagles blew it open with 6 more runs in the fourth, while CC JP II didn’t score after the first inning.
Madeline Egbert was the winning pitcher for Geneva and only gave up 2 hits in Friday’s game. Egbert has all three of their wins this year and struck out 5 batters.
Egbert helped her cause after she went 2 for 3 at the plate, hit a solo home run in the first inning, and added a double later in the game. Egbert finished with 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.
Lily Flora went 2 for 4 at the plate, picked up an RBI and scored 3 runs, Kate Friesenhahn finished 3 for 4 at the plate and drove in 2 runs, Maegan Riebel was also 3 for 4 at the plate and pushed in a run, Trinity Cloud was 3 for 3 at the plate and drove in a run, while Emily Coultress went 2 for 4 in the game and scored 3 runs.
