In a remarkable display of talent and determination, nine local level 8 gymnasts from Empower Gymnastics Academy, known as the Great 8’s, clinched 1st place for the medium team category at the highly competitive Texas State Gymnastics Meet on March 24, at Rock Solid in Lubbock.
This outstanding achievement not only marks a significant milestone for the gymnasts but also underscores the exceptional training and guidance provided by the esteemed Empower Gymnastics Academy.
Competing against some of the most formidable gymnastics teams in the state, the Great 8’s gymnasts showcased their prowess and commitment to the sport, leaving judges and spectators in awe. With flawless execution and impressive routines, they emerged as standout performers, capturing the attention of all in attendance.
Madigan Day received 1st place for beam, floor, and AA, and 2nd for vault in the Jr. B2 division.
Finley Totman received 1st place for vault, 2nd AA, and 3rd for beam in the Jr. A3 division.
Amelie Wilkes received 2nd place for beam in the Jr. A3 division.
Kirana Griffith received 1st place for floor in the Jr. B1 division.
Sophia Carrasco received 1st place for vault in the Jr. B3 division.
Roslyn Robles received 2nd place for beam and 3rd on vault for the Jr. A3 division.
Karis Marcellus received 3rd on vault in the Jr. A1 division.
As Empower Gymnastics Academy continues to nurture young talent and produce exceptional gymnasts, the future looks promising. With role models like the Great 8’s gymnasts leading the way, the gymnastics community can anticipate more victories and outstanding performances in the years to come.
