Before spring break, the Champion track and field team was at the Mule Relays hosted by Alamo Heights. The Chargers were also at the Northeast Invitational last week.
Varsity Boys
At Alamo Heights, Jamarri Bowie finished 4th in the 100 dash with a time of 11.23 and Hayden Brace was 10th in 11.64.
Luis Tovar won the 800 after clocking in at 1:59, Caleb DeHart was 2nd in 2:00 and Noah Perez was 8th at 2:08.
DeHart placed 2nd in the 1600 after running a 4:41.56, Shawn Edwards was one spot back in 3rd at 4:41.82 and William Coover turned in a 4:47 for 7th.
Charlie Houck captured 1st in the 3200 with a time of 9:59 and Luke Grametbauer took 2nd with a 10:10, while Robert Wegleitner placed 7th in the 300 hurdles after posting a 43.07.
In relay events, the Chargers 4x100 relay came in 2nd with a time of 42.65, the 4x200 finished 7th in 1:32 and the 4x400 posted a 3:25 for 2nd.
Robert Wegleitner and Corbin Buchanan tied for 7th in the high jump with two others after they all cleared 5-8.
Hayden Brace was 1st in the triple jump with a measurement of 42-06 and Brace finished 4th in the long jump with a mark of 21-03, while Landon Kolacny won the pole vault after he went 12-6.
Varsity Girls
Madison Meinke took 2nd in the 100 dash with a time of 12.82 and Hevhyn Littlejohn came in 10th after running a 13.53, while Meinke also placed 7th in the 200 dash after she posted a 27.08.
Emma Rice clocked in at 2:24 for 2nd in the 800 and Michelle Cerna was 33rd in the race with a 2:26.
Kynley Albright won the 1600 with a time of 5:21, Rice placed 3rd in the event at 5:34 and Luciana Zazueta Ibarra finished 4th with a 5:38.
Albright also won the 3200 with a time of 11:39, Zazueta Ibarra came in 4th in 12:00 and Breanna Hempton placed 5th with a 12:13.
Ella Bachman took 2nd in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.80 and Kinsley Graff was 9th in 17.89.
Bachman also came in 7th in the 300 hurdles after she posted a 51.55 and Hempton was 9th in 53.16.
The 4x100 relay finished 4th with a time of 50.38, the 4x200 was 6th in 1:49 and the 4x400 combined for a 4:14 that was good enough for 3rd.
Isabella Perez tied for 4th with two others in the high jump after they all cleared 4-10 on fewer attempts, while Erin Martin was 6th in the event after she cleared 4-10.
Champion went 3-4-5 in the long jump after Erin Martin placed 3rd with a distance of 17-00.50, Macy O’Dell took 4th at 16-11 and Lauren Ball was 5th with a mark of 16-08.75.
Grace Mondini went 33-04.5 in the triple jump for 4th and Ball was 8th in 32-05.50.
Peyton Smith won the pole vault with a clearance of 11-00 and Vivian Cardenas was 3rd
