Boerne High moved their district win streak to 44 straight victories after the boys basketball team defeated Wimberley last Friday, 71-57.
The Greyhounds are 7-0 in district and 24-5 overall. They hosted Navarro Tuesday and play at Canyon Lake Friday.
The current 44-game win streak stretches over five seasons and ties another 44-game streak that was put up by Greyhound teams during the 2009-10 to 2013-14 seasons.
Both of the streaks have come under current Greyhounds coach Kimble McHone.
A win Tuesday against Navarro and the Greyhounds will have moved the win streak to 45 and pass the old mark of 44.
It is believed to be the longest streak on the boys side and it is definitely the longest since the school reopened in the fall of 2009-10 after remodeling and being shut down in 2008-09.
For more on the streak, be sure to look in this weekend’s Boerne Star.
