Mary Louise Borgman

May 13, 1933 – January 1, 2024

Longtime Boerne, Texas native Mary Louise Carpenter Borgman passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 1, 2024, at the age of 90.

The Borgman family of Mary Louise, husband retired Air Force Captain Louis Henry, son Christopher and daughter Marissa moved to Boerne in 1973. The Borgman family is best known as owners of the local and muchloved family operated restaurant, the Beef & Brew. Mary Louise Carpenter Borgman was born May 13, 1933, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She graduated from Jefferson High School in San Antonio in 1951. She loved to sew and was an avid reader. She was a good friend to the Boerne Public Library.

Mary Louise is proceeded in death by parents, Charles E. Carpenter and Mena Comparet Carpenter, husband Louis, and brother, Sam Ragland.

She is survived by two children, Christopher and Marissa; one brother, Lon P. Carpenter; and niece, Christina Finsel.

She was loved and cherished by all who knew her and will be missed. Funeral service will be held on January 16, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the St Helena’s Episcopal Church in Boerne, Texas.

Interment will follow at the Boerne City Cemetery. Pallbearers are James Babbitt, Stephan Smith, Randy Barnhill, and Brent Fields.
