• Kick off the holidays and let off some steam at The Roundup’s annual Christmas Bash, with Mario Flores and the Soda Creek Band. This is a free show; all ages are welcome. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

DECEMBER 24

• Christmas in the City, Main Plaza, 6-7 p.m. Great food, dazzling lights, the spirit of joy that is in the air … but most of all, the opportunity to celebrate a baby who came to change history, and save the world. n neteen:ten church loves Christmas on so many levels and hosts the event, with great music, an inspiring message, free hot cocoa, and a candlelight celebration of Jesus’ birth.

DECEMBER 25 – MERRY CHRISTMAS!

• Join Tapatio Springs for its New Year’s Eve Extravaganza featuring live music, dinner, dancing, and plenty of bubbles. Dance the night away with live music from San Antonio favorite TwoTen Band, and ring in the new year with a champagne toast and balloon drop. JANUARY 2

• The Boerne Chapter of the Native Plant Society hosts Ryan Bass, Boerne environmental program manager, as program speaker. Social hour begins at 6 p.m., chapter announcements are set for 6:45 P.M., with the featured program to follow. The public is invited to come and hear an update on the city’s environmental plans at the Cibolo Nature Center auditorium, 140 City Park Road in Boerne.

JANUARY 8

• The January Meeting of the Hill Country Newcomers Club (HCNC) is set for 10 a.m. to noon at the Family Life Center of St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 208 West Bandera Road in Boerne. HCNC is a non-profit organization that invites women to make new friends and learn new things through fun interactive social activities. JANUARY 15

• MLK, Jr. Day of Service, Patrick Heath Public Library amphitheater 10 a.m. to noon. Hosted by Touchstone United Church of Christ, a short ceremony will be followed by a walk down Main Street to River Road and back, as a visible show of solidarity for MLK Jr. and the pillars of freedom, justice, and equality that he stood for.
