Hounds host Boerne High Invitational XC meet

Boerne High hosted its own cross country meet last Saturday at Voss Middle School.
It was a small meet but the Greyhounds and some of the Charger runners competed, along with Geneva School of Boerne and Northside schools Taft, Holmes, Sotomayor, Clark and Harlan.
Up next for the Hounds is their district meet scheduled for Oct. 12 at Bandera City Park. The varsity girls run at 9 a.m. and the varsity boys race at 9:30 p.m.
Varsity Boys
The Boerne boys finished third behind 6A schools Holmes and Sotomayor. The Huskies won the event with 44 points and Sotomayor was second at 54, followed by BHS with 61 points.
Carsten Bain finished 6th in the adjusted scoring with a time of 16:56.47, Jackson Temple was 8th after clocking in at 17:00.63, Cash Copeland came in 11th at 17:19.44, Aaron Garcia posted a 17.22.84 for 14th, Caleb Benchoff came in 22nd in a time of 18:04.23, Tayson Farar clocked in at

Varsity Girls
The Lady Hounds competed in the 1A-4A two-mile event and basically turned in a perfect race in a small field that included BHS, YWLA and Memorial.
Boerne took the top five spots for the perfect race with 15 points and captured the first seven spots after Eleanor Davis, Mahaley Merkens, Lilly Cox, Kiera Sawyer, Sophia King, Mary Marino and Molly Briskey went 1-7.
Davis was 1st in 12:31.60, Merkins 2nd at 13:15.60, Cox 3rd at 13:23.25, Sawyer 4th at 13:25.50, King 5th at 13:29.40, Marino 6th at 13:42.70 and Briskey 7th at 13:44.60.
Landon Wade was also 10th at 14:16.70.
