COMFORT ART FESTIVAL

Saturday, September 16, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Local and area artists will have works on display in historic downtown Comfort. Local shops along High and Seventh streets will sponsor artists and their works. Artists showing include Peggy Vesper, Robin Mahan, Judy Youngers, Susan Die, Jackie Knott, Tina Couet, Mike Martin and Cathy Pankratz, whose art was featured on the Comfort Art Festival poster.

ART AFTERHOURS 2023

Hill Country Council for the Arts sponsors “Art AfterHours 2023” from 7-9 p.m. every Tuesday at the Classroom at The AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, 102 City Park Road, Boerne. Art AfterHours was created to offer participants “a taste” of a variety of applied arts methodologies. Class size limited; $35, supplies included. Find complete details at: www.hccarts.org. ARTS EVENTS CALENDAR

Sept. 12: Wood Burned Spoons. Come explore the art of pyrography, decorating wood with burn marks. We will work with positive and negative space in a design applied to a wooden spoon. Practice mark-making and finishing to fabricate a functional piece of art for your kitchen or wall. Sept. 19: Geometric Wire Wrapping, an ancient art form of looping wire to decorative shapes and wrapping wire or other elements to produce jewelry components. We will fashion individual earrings from wire and crystal beads. Work with jewelers’ tools and terms in this baseline class.
