An ancient art form, stone carving has long been used by humans to express themselves. We will use a rotary tool on marble and slate. Explore the methods of subtractive relief carving with heat, water, and refinement.

• Aug. 1, Moulded Paper with Gilder’s Paste Embossed paper with an old world approach. To complete the process, we will embellish raised

patterns with colored inks and gilding wax to emphasize the positive and negative forms.

• Aug. 8, Eco Print Book.

• Aug. 15, Pendant with Soldered Bail.

• Aug. 22 and Aug. 29, two-part class --Stained Glass Candle Holder.

The Hill Country Council for the Arts’ event, “Art AfterHours 2023,” occurs every Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Classroom at The AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, 102 City Park Road, Boerne. Art AfterHours was created to offer participants “a taste” of various applied arts methodologies. Class size is limited; supplies are included. $30 for HCCArts members, $35 for non-members.
