Creativity has always been a passion for artist Cathy Geib. To Geib, art is an adventure of learning and exploring different techniques.

Creating art makes her feel good, and the possibility of making someone else happy is an added bonus. Geib finds it quite energizing.

Geib’s life evolved from being an Air Force brat, to a teacher of the hearing impaired, to the artist she is today-- and she seemingly enjoys every minute of it. Creating art simply makes her happy!

After retiring from teaching, Geib was able to follow her artistic passions, and began her exploration by enrolling in a pastel class. She became hooked, enjoying the pure pigment and vibrancy the medium offers. She enjoys painting in acrylics and encaustics, as well.

Inspired by the beautiful Texas Hill Country --flowers, beaches, sunsets and animals. Her love of animals led her to paint pets and wildlife.

Her art is shown at the River Art Gallery in La Villita, Texas Pastel Society, Boerne Art League, as well as local shows and venues.

Stop by local banks in Boerne to see the artworks of Boerne Art League’s named Artist of the Month, Cathy Geib, and at participating business partners’ venues: Texas Heritage, Bank of America, Security State Bank, Jefferson Bank, Frost Bank; and community partners, Kronkosky Senior Center and Visit Boerne! visitor center.
