Boerne girls soccer wins playoff opener Thursday

Vs. Canyon Lake

Both the Boerne High varsity soccer teams closed out the regular season Monday against Canyon Lake before beginning the playoffs this week.

The BHS girls hosted the Hawks and the Boerne boys were on the road and both recorded shutout victories.

Boerne kicks off the playoffs this week. The BHS boys were at Dripping Springs on Friday to take on Burnet.

Varsity Girls

The Lady Hounds shutout the Lady Hawks and won the match 2-0. It was their first match in 13 days.

Kylie Combs put BHS on the board first after she converted a penalty kick early in the first half.

Madeline Davis added the other goal, also unassisted, right before halftime to make it 2-0, which is where it stayed after neither team scored in the second half.

The Lady Hounds entered the postseason with a record of 21-2. They went undefeated in district at 12-0.

Varsity Boys

BHS defeat Canyon Lake 3-0 Monday on the road.

Aaron Vasquez, Bear Kelly and Shae Gonzales all tallied goals for the Greyhounds. Noah LeMaster assisted on the Vasquez goal and Joe Ballenger assisted on the Kelly goal, while the Gonzales goal was unassisted.

The Boerne boys enter the playoffs with a record of 12-0 in district and 22-3-2 overall.
