The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team will advance to this year’s TAPPS state tournament after the Lady Eagles defeated Legacy Prep Christian Academy last Saturday in La Grange.
Geneva punched its ticket to state with a 50-42 victory in the regional finals and improves to 28-5 overall.
The Eagles play in the TAPPS 4A state semifinals Thursday in Waco at 10 a.m. against district foe Corpus Christi Incarnate Word. The winner of that game plays Friday at 11 a.m. for the state title.
In last Saturday’s game, Maegan Riebel led the Eagles with 20 points and Kyra Petty was also in double digits with 11 points. Morgan Howard tallied 9, Brynn Riebel finished with 6 points and Madeline Egbert netted 3.
Petty grabbed a team-high 9 rebounds, Brynn Riebel snagged 7 boards and Maegan Riebel tallied 6 boards, while Egbert dished out 3 assists and Maegan Riebel came up with 3 steals.
