The Boerne High Cheer team competed at the Texas UIL Spirit Championships.
Spirit is an extracurricular activity that focuses on the traditional game-day role cheerleaders have on the sidelines and in schools supporting athletic teams.
At the UIL Spirit State Championships, schools competed in three categories: crowd leading, fight song and band dance.
BHS cheer made the finalist cut for the first time in school history and placed 11th in 4A Division 1.
Coach Kimberly Skok stated, “I am so very proud of these girls. Their hard work, determination, and work ethic really paid off. They set a goal as a team to become one of the top 20 finalists and they met and exceeded that goal coming in at 11th place.”
