The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team won its first two games of their district tournament held Friday and Saturday.

The Eagles defeated Texas School for the Deaf on Friday, 56-34 and then handled Holy Cross on Saturday, 57-18. Geneva continued their district tournament on Tuesday. For results of that game, check the Boerne Star.

Maegan Riebel had a strong game with 20 points, Madeline Egbert finished with 8, Kyra Petty and Brynn Riebel both added 6, Tessa Murphy and Hailey Kirchner tallied 4 points apiece, Morgan Howard scored 3, Suzie Nilsson had 2 and Sopris Oglesby hit a free throw.

Brynn Riebel grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 3 assists, while Maegan Riebel recorded 4 assists and 5 steals.

Vs. Holy Cross

The Eagles returned to the court on Saturday at noon and beat Holy Cross, 57-18.

Kyra Petty shot it well and tallied 21 points on 8 of 12 shooting to go with 10 rebounds, while Maegan Riebel scored 17 points after she went 8 for 10 from the field.

Suzie Nilsson, Brynn Riebel and Morgan Howard all netted 5 points, while Bethany Deluna chipped in with 2.

Maegan Riebel, Madeline Egbert and Petty all dished out 3 assists and Maegan Riebel came up with 8 steals.
