Boerne High is still perfect in District 27-4A boys basketball and closing in on another district title after the Greyhounds earned victories over Navarro and Canyon Lake last week.
The Hounds are 24-5 overall and 9-0 in district and visited Fredericksburg on Tuesday. They will play at Davenport on Friday.
Vs. Canyon Lake
The Hounds hosted Canyon Lake on Friday and handcuffed the Hawks, 61-21.
Boerne was in double digits in all four quarters, while the Hawks only managed double figures once.
BHS was up 19-4 at the end of one and then outscored the Hawks in the second, 16-11, for the 35-15 halftime lead.
The Hounds dropped in 13 in both the third and fourth quarters, while Canyon Lake only managed 4 and 2 points in the final two stanzas as Boerne outscored them 26-6.
Barrett Pape led the team with 16 points, Sam Holland finished with 10, Koen Wolff scored 9, Colton Hoegemeyer added 7, Trevor Agarwal had 5, Sam Waters netted 4, while Jeffrey Brown, Hutson Hendrix, Nic Hernandez, Houston Hendrix and Casen Hoegemeyer all chipped in with 2 points.
Pape led the team on the boards with 8 rebounds, Houston Hendrix, Colton Hoegemeyer and Agarwal all dished out 3 assists, while Baize and Wolff had 2 steals each and Colton Hoegemeyer blocked 2 shots.
Vs. Navarro
BHS defeated Navarro on the road Thursday, 82-28.
The Hounds had balanced scoring after five players reached double figures.
Barrett Pape had teamhigh honors with 18 points, Sam Holland finished with 14, Houston Hendrix added 11, while Koen Wolff and Colton Hoegemeyer both netted 10 points apiece.
Jaxon Baize scored 7, Trevor Agarwal had 5, Nic Hernandez, Hutson Hendrix and Luke Fox all chipped in with 2 and Casen Hoegemeyer hit a free throw.
Houston Hendrix collected 9 rebounds, Holland brought in 6 boards, Wolff and Pape both dished out 4 assists, while Pape added 4 steals and Baize came up with 3 steals.
