The recent winter storm that hit the area last week forced the Geneva boys basketball team to have a back loaded week of games.

Vs. Holy Cross

Last Thursday night the Eagles took on the Knights of Holy Cross in the opening round game of the District tournament.

The Eagles lost 44-34 in a game that was a 4-point game with two minutes left and the Eagles with possession of the ball. A 3-point attempt from Geneva that would have cut it to one, went in and out and the Knights went on to seal the victory.

Spencer Yarbrough paced the Eagles with 14 points and Colton Lutz added 9 points.

Vs. Hill Country Christian

The Eagles took on Hill Country Christian in the second round of the tournament last Saturday and Geneva won 49-41.

The Eagles led in this game from wire to wire, but the Knights cut the lead down to 3 points in the 4th quarter with an offensive rebound and put back with a foul to complete the 3-point play.

The Eagles pushed the lead to 6 points and they were able to hold on from there.

Colton Lutz led Geneva with 16 points, Jack Walker Harden added 10, while Logan Fritcher and Spencer Yarbrough added 8 apiece.

The Eagles played their third-round match up vs. Austin Veritas early this week.
