The Boerne Champion girls soccer team visited Kerrville Tivy for a district match on Friday and defeated the Lady Antlers for its fourth win in a row.
Champion won the match, 2-0, and is 8-2-2 overall and 5-2 in district. The Lady Chargers host Buda Johnson Tuesday to end the first round of district and begin the second round Friday at home against New Braunfels Canyon.
Not only was last Friday’s win Champion’s fourth in a row, but it’s also the team’s fourth consecutive shutout. The Lady Chargers have won those four matches by a combined score of 23-0.
Champion scored both of its goals on Friday late in the first half. Regan Alt put the team on the board with less than seven minutes before the half and then two minutes later, Mack Arendall added another goal on the assist from Addison Huber and neither team was able to find the back of the net the rest of the way.
Audrey Riordan was in goal for the Chargers all 80 minutes and came up with 3 saves.
Stat corrections: Chargers coach Kara Walters said there were a few stat corrections from their match with Seguin.
Addison Huber tallied 2 goals, Vivian Garza, Nevaeh Garris, Hannah Arnall, Regan Alt and Lorenna Garza all scored 2 goals.
Shelby Christian finished with 3 assists, while Emma Mae Dixon and Alt both had 1 assist.
