Lady Hounds defeat Canyon Lake in soccer

Boerne High was on the road for a district soccer match on Friday when the Lady Greyhounds visited Canyon Lake.

BHS was searching for its first 26-4A win and found it against the Lady Hawks. Boerne won Friday’s match, 4-2, and is 8-3-4 overall and 1-1-2 in district.

The Lady Greyhounds continue district play this week with two more road matches for a stretch of four total away from home.

On Tuesday, they visit Great Hearts Northern Oaks and are at Bandera on Friday. Next week, they visit Fredericksburg.

Tuesday’s match with Great Hearts Northern Oaks is part of a doubleheader with the BHS boys team. The girls play at 5 p.m. and the boys begin at 7 p.m., with both matches at the Classic Elite Academy Fields.

In Friday’s match, Gigi Hernandez, Kylie Combs, A’Marie Ramirez and Hannah Bowen all knocked in single goals, while Madeline Davis recorded a hat trick in the assist department and finished with 3 assists and Ramirez also had one assist.
