Geneva girls improve to 26-1 overall

The Geneva School of Boerne girls basketball team won its three district games last week, defeating St. Mary’s Hall, St. Anthony and Austin Regents as they made up some games to close out the regular season.

Geneva, the No. 1 5A TAPPS girls team in Texas, is 26-1 overall and 16-0 in district. They’ll begin the playoffs soon.

Against St. Mary’s Hall last Tuesday, Micah Howard paced Geneva with 18 points and Alexa Elizondo added 10 points, while Chloe Donnell netted 8, Brynn Riebel had 7 and Hailey Kirchner, Bethany DeLuna, Lindsay Lee, Kyra Petty and Madeline Egbert all chipped in with 2.

Riebel snagged 9 boards, Elizondo had 8 boards and Sydney Griffey collected 7 rebounds, Donnell dished out 4 assists and came up with 3 steals and Elizondo had 3 assists.

Geneva defeated St. Anthony last Thursday, 52-25.

Micah Howard finished with 12 points, Chloe Donnell netted 9, Alexa Elizondo had 7, Morgan Howard and Sydney Griffey both scored 5, Brynn Riebel tallied 4, Lindsay Lee hit for 3, while Kyra Petty, Bethany DeLuna and Ainsley McCloy added 2.

Griffey snagged 7 boards, Riebel had 3 steals and Howard dished out 2 assists.

On Friday, the Eagles closed out district with a 78-47 win over Austin Regents.

Micah Howard led the team with 22 points, Brynn Riebel netted 18 and Sydney Griffey score 11. Alexa Elizondo chipped in with 7, Chloe Donnell added 6, Ainsley McCloy finished with 5, Hailey Kirchner tallied 4, Madeline Egbert had and Kyra Petty hit for 2 points.

Griffey and Riebel both collected 10 rebounds, Riebel dished out 4 assists and Donnell came up with 5 steals.
