Members of the Boerne High swim team continued their 2023 season last Friday at the NEISD Progressive No. 3 meet at Walker Natatorium in San Antonio.
The Hounds went up against the big 6A schools but performed well. There were no team scores released and there were no relays held at the event.
BHS was scheduled to compete at the SAISD Winter Invitational this week before district competition on Jan. 20. The Chargers were also in the water this week as they prepare for their district meet on Jan. 21.

Girls
In the girls 50-yard backstroke, Kiali Cunningham came in second with a 32.50, Ella Parsons placed third in the girls 100-yard breaststroke after clocking in at 1:21.66, while Brenna McCarty won the 50-yard butterfly after posting a time of 30.07 and McCarty finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle after touching the wall in 1:00.79.
In the girls 50-yard breaststroke, the Lady Hounds took three of the top six spots and went 1-2 in the event. Kiali Cunningham won the race with a time of 35.84 and Brenna McCarty came in second at 37.12, while Ella Parsons tied for sixth after clocking in at 38.14.
Freshman Brinley Robinson placed 10th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 29.33 and Robinson also came in eighth in the 100-yard backstroke after turning in a 1:16.27.
Boys
In the boys 50-yard butterfly, Carter Schuessler finished in a time of 28.85 for ninth and Henry Johnson took second in the boys 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.31. Johnson was also 11th in the 50 breaststroke at 34.30 and he came in third in the 100-yard butterfly with a 59.17.
Cooper Wagner also placed in the top 10 in the 100 butterfly and finished ninth after recording a 1:03.55 and Wagner posted a time of 24.74 for seventh in the 50-yard freestyle.
