Three BISD football players in all-star game

Three Boerne ISD athletes will participate in this weekend’s San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game in San Antonio.

Boerne High will have two representatives and Boerne Champion is sending one athlete to Saturday’s game that takes place in the Alamodome at 5 p.m. and broadcast on CW 35.

Boerne High’s Jeffrey Brown and Jacob McLaughlin, along with Champion’s Kannon Brooks will suit up for the Team Black as they battle Team Gold.

Brooks is a wide receiver, Brown is a defensive lineman and McLaughlin is a center.

According to the San Antonio Sports website, players are nominated by their coaches and then a selection committee makes the final picks before they are announced.

Last year’s game featured 116 seniors representing 62 area high schools. The game has regularly featured athletes from Boerne Champion and Boerne High over the years.
